EPIC APP SOLUTIONS
A Statement of Intent
How We Choose the Work

We Don't Work For Passive Investors.

If your only interest in a project is putting money in, waiting for somebody else to build it, and making more money when it comes out the other side, Epic App Solutions is probably not the firm you're looking for.

We've had a few calls lately from people who want to invest in projects.

That's fine.

Investing is a business.

It just isn't ours.

At this point in my life, I don't want to spend my time making somebody else rich because they happened to have money sitting on the table.

Tim and I have both worked inside environments where money, finance, enterprise systems, and large organizations were part of the job.

We've worked for financial firms.

We've worked around people whose entire business is capital, investment, risk, and return.

We understand that world.

We simply chose not to build Epic App Solutions around it.

We work on cases.

That's the easiest way to explain what we actually do.

Somebody comes to us with a problem.

Maybe they're just getting started.

Maybe an opening went badly.

Maybe a platform isn't working.

Maybe somebody else built something and left them holding the bag.

Maybe they need software.

Maybe they need somebody to look at the business itself and tell them where the real problem is.

Maybe the answer isn't software at all.

That's why we call them cases.

The EAS Model Tell us the case.

We listen. We figure out what is actually happening. We decide whether we're the right people to help. Then we tell you what we think the next move should be.

Nothing here is black and white.

That's important.

We're not a menu where you choose Product A, Product B, or Product C and somebody sends you an invoice.

One case might need a software platform.

Another might need a technical investigation.

Another might need somebody inside the operation figuring out where inventory is disappearing.

Another might need automation.

Another might need a mobile application.

Another might need us to look at the entire plan and tell the owner:

"The thing you're asking us to build isn't actually the thing that's broken."

That's the kind of firm we are.

Multifaceted.

Practical.

Case by case.

Sometimes the solution is conventional.

Sometimes it isn't.

Hell, if the case truly required a monster truck, we'd at least have the conversation about the monster truck.

What we don't want is a passenger.

We do not want somebody sitting on the sidelines whose only relationship to the work is:

Not Our Model

"I put money in."

And somebody else takes all the risk, does all the work, and turns it into more money for me.

Much Better Fit

"This matters to me."

I understand the problem, care about the outcome, and I'm participating in making it real.

We want people who are actually invested.

And I don't mean financially invested.

I mean emotionally.

Professionally.

Personally.

It should be your idea.

Your problem.

Your business.

Your mission.

Your dream.

If you don't care whether the project exists as long as the return looks good, we're probably the wrong people.

That doesn't mean "don't call."

This is where people misunderstand us.

Epic App Solutions doesn't operate on absolutes.

If you've got a strange case, tell us the strange case.

If you're an investor but there's a reason this particular project actually matters to you, say that.

If you think there's something unusual here that makes the situation different, tell us.

We may take the case.

We may charge for reviewing it.

We may tell you we're not the right firm.

We may know exactly who you should talk to instead.

That's why the answer is always:

Start Here Tell us your case.

Don't try to guess which service you need. Don't try to fit yourself into one of our boxes. Tell us what you're trying to accomplish, what's going wrong, and why it matters.

We chose work over capital.

That's really what this comes down to.

I'm fifty years old.

I still like working.

I like solving problems.

I like taking something that's struggling and helping it stand up.

I like helping the person who has a good idea but doesn't know how to get it across the finish line.

I like walking into situations where everybody has an opinion and figuring out what is mechanically true.

That's the game.

Not sitting around waiting for somebody else's labor to increase the value of my money.

Letter of Intent

Bring us something you actually give a damn about.

If all you have is money, there are plenty of firms built specifically for that. If you have a real case, a real problem, a real business, or a real idea you are personally committed to building, tell us about it. We may say yes. We may say no. We may send you somewhere better suited to the job. But we'll treat the case like a case. That's how Epic App Solutions works.
