A New Use for the Former Rite Aid.

Oak Valley Hospital District is renovating 1300 W. F Street into a Center for Health Improvement intended to combine urgent care, education, wellness programming, and community partnerships.

Published August 20, 2026 · Public-plan explainer

Activity at the former Rite Aid reflects a plan discussed publicly by Oak Valley Hospital District since 2025. District materials describe a roughly 12,620-square-foot Center for Health Improvement intended to expand health access and reuse a prominent Oakdale property.

Location

1300 W. F Street, Oakdale—the former Rite Aid property.

Planned uses

Urgent care, community education, wellness programming, meeting space, and complementary partners.

First announced program

An EmpowerHER women’s wellness luncheon is scheduled for September 9, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Ticket report

The announced event lists $40 individual tickets and $400 business tables for up to eight attendees.

What residents still need to know.

A launch event is not the same as a complete service directory. Residents need opening dates, regular hours, walk-in rules, insurance information, program calendars, accessibility details, transportation options, and a clear distinction between free education and billable medical services.

The best measure of the project will be simple: can residents quickly understand what is available, when it opens, what it costs, and how to use it?

The public plan is broader than one luncheon.

Hospital board materials describe urgent care, education for multiple age groups, a community conference room, and possible complementary health and wellness tenants. Those records provide important context beyond the first promotional event.
