Most community organizations do not need another beautiful brochure nobody updates.
They need a working information center.
Events. Members. Resources. Announcements. Directories. Volunteer information. Forms. Contacts. Current information.
A strong membership or community site can become the front door for everything the organization is already trying to communicate across email, social media, paper flyers and word of mouth.
That same structure can support nonprofits, clubs, neighborhood groups, veterans organizations, business associations, arts groups and local causes.
Technology should follow the organization. The organization should not contort itself to justify the technology bill.
Start with the site. Add member logins, QR check-ins, event registration, donations, directories or mobile features when they actually solve a real problem.
