The New York State Public Health and Health Planning Council voted unanimously on Sept. 17 to let Maimonides Health join NYC Health + Hospitals.
The $2.2 billion deal includes more than $500 million for an Epic electronic health record system and labor-and-delivery upgrades. Brooklyn’s only children’s hospital and pediatric trauma center will remain open.
More state approvals and possibly court sign-off are still required.
