Independent. Opinionated. Not Everyone's Cup of Tea.
This is an independent local publication from Epic App Solutions — the 912 area code's paper, organized by zip — not affiliated with any other newspaper, agency, or organization unless an article says so directly. Expect straight opinions, real questions, and the occasional field note that doesn't pull punches.
We're also a moderated newsroom, not a social feed. Disagree like an adult, bring evidence — acting up gets shown the door.
If that's not for you, that's fine — just say so below and we'll part ways here.

The Grocery Shopper
Every place that sells food in the 912 — supermarkets, carnicerias, corner
stores, drugstores, produce stands, farmers markets — plus a grocery list that knows what food is.
Write the list by aisle, scan a barcode off the shelf, and flip it to the recipe book to see
what the house can already cook. Sign in and it lives on your Gazette account — same list on your
phone as on the fridge. Like the combos? The Combo Desk →
The list is what you're shopping for. In the House is what you already have. The book is what it can all become.
Shelf
Sort it
Tap got it when it lands in the cart, put it away when it hits the
pantry -- the recipe book re-scores itself live as you shop. Anything the book doesn't recognize lands
under new to the desk: it still shops fine, it just isn't in a recipe yet.
Point the camera at any UPC -- a can of Coke, a box of mac, the bag of rice.
The desk checks the national product book and puts it on the shelf by name.

This is the house shelf -- what you already have. Scans and "put it away"s land here.
Something run out? Need it sends it back to the shopping list. The recipe book counts
this shelf as what you can cook with right now.

How it works: signed out, your list lives in this browser's storage and never leaves your
device. Signed in, it lives on your Gazette account and follows you to any device. The recipe book and the
store shelf are the paper's public files. Barcodes resolve against Open Food Facts and UPCitemdb --
product databases, not store trackers; nothing you scan is sold or shared.
